STEWARDSHIP SERMON SERIES:

BUILDING

THE FOUNDATION

MATTHEW 7: 24
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise one built their house on the rock.

Series Intro: How many times over the last 6 months has each one of us said, “When this is all over I am going to start…blank”? Each one of us is building a house. And when the storms come, and the storms ALWAYS come, we all find out what sort of foundation our houses are built on. We have a lot of rebuilding to do in the weeks and months and years ahead. But the good news is that if our foundations are strong, if they are rooted in Christ, then we have an opportunity to build our dream house on this foundation we have laid. What is the foundation you have built your life upon and as we all begin rebuilding our lives, what would your dream house, dream life look like?

FALL SERMON SERIES: BECOMING A

MATTHEW 25 CHURCH

What is a Matthew 25 church?
Matthew 25:31–46 calls all of us to actively engage in the world around us, so our faith comes alive and we wake up to new possibilities.

We recognize Christ’s urgent call to be a church of action, where God’s love, justice and mercy shine forth and are contagious. And we rejoice how our re-energized faith can unite all Presbyterians for a common and holy purpose: our common identity to do mission.

As a Matthew 25 church we make a commitment to:
BUILDING CONGREGATIONAL VITALITY
DISMANTLING STRUCTURAL RACISM
ERADICATING SYSTEMIC POVERTY
