OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
WESTSIDE FOOD BANK NEEDS OUR HELP
With demand for their services having greatly escalated since the recent fires, our long-time mission partner, the Westside Food Bank, has issued an urgent appeal for donations. It is hosting a special food drive through March 14th. These items are the most needed:
-Peanut butter & other nut butters
-Pasta or noodles
-Cereal (hot & cold)
-Canned soups
-Canned meats & fish
-Beans (dry & canned)
-Canned stews or chili
-Canned pasta
-Canned vegetables
-Canned or dried fruits
-Pasta sauces (no glass)
-Protein, energy, or granola bars
-Baby foods & formula
If you can drop off these or any other essential food items (no glass, please!) at the Narthex on Sundays or at the office during the week, they will be deeply appreciated. One small way we can help some of those adversely affected by the fires.

Online Tool to Help L.A.’s Homeless
There’s a brand new online tool in LA to help the homeless: LA-HOP, the first of its kind. Anybody with a cell phone or computer can use it. Here’s how it works: If you see someone on the street who needs help, go to LA-HOP.com. type in the location and describe the situation. An outreach team will then look into getting them the services they need. LA-HOP is not for medical or mental emergencies nor for reporting crime, but it does allow you to help someone in need. Learn more, go to https://www.lahsa.org/portal/apps/la-hop/.
