Empowerment Ministries

Empowerment Ministries exists to encourage the active participation of the people of BPC to live into their faith together, to discover their gifts and to respond to God’s call through service within the church and the community. Four teams of Empowerment Ministries: facilitate welcoming people to BPC; coordinate the new member process; conduct leadership training; and nominate officers to serve.

Following are the four teams of Empowerment Ministries:

• Welcome & Discovery offers hospitality and encouragement to people who come to BPC by welcoming them, inviting them to participate in our ministries and explore church membership through the New Member Discovery Series. Get involved.
• Connecting team assists and supports the BPC family to live into the concept of Worship plus 2 and helps to find the opportunities at BPC where they may connect to areas that will help them grow in faith while serving others. Get involved.
• Equipping (Leadership Development) team is the leadership development team that provides education, training and spiritual support to BPC’s leaders, staff, Session and Deacon Boards to enable them to serve more effectively. Get involved.
• Nominating One principle of Presbyterian government provides that our church members have the right to determine those who lead and govern them. Nominating Committee, composed of 12 members elected by the congregation, solicits names of persons eligible to hold leadership positions. The congregation submits names to the Committee which prayerfully and confidentially considers each one. In April, the Nominating Committee presents a slate of nominees for election by the congregation.
