Angel Interfaith Network
A ministry originating with the Synod of Southern California and Hawaii (PCUSA) and growing to a non-profit status with ecumenical and interfaith partners, Angel Interfaith Network (AIN) organizes local faith groups, businesses, civic organizations and individuals to reach out to neighbors in coping with the crises of hospitalization.
AIN partners with L.A. + USC Healthcare Network to meet unique physical and spiritual needs of patients and families with neighbor to neighbor support. This is accomplished by responding quickly with donated funds, goods and services to urgent needs identified by health care staff, bringing material support directly to homes and staying in touch until the crisis is past, and finding local resources to assist with additional needs. Calls for help come from social workers and chaplains at LAC+USC Healthcare Network. In 2008 AIN made 1,096 service deliveries to more than 679 families, serving over 1,312 individuals.
The Angel Interfaith Network is supported by BPC through the annual Angel Store in December.
