Education
and Spiritual Growth
"Thy
Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."
Psalm 119:105
Our capacity
to sustain ourselves in the face of life's challenges, and to find
both joy and meaning in the ups and downs and the everyday, seems
to directly relate to the depth of faith developed in our hearts.
BPC offers many opportunities for you to open yourself up to God's
transforming love, wherever you are on your path of spiritual and
personal growth. If you:
- seek to awaken
- or deepen - your faith in God
- want to understand
yourself, and others, better, in the context of the Christian
faith and God's love and grace
- don't know
much about the Bible and want to learn more - or want to take
your knowledge of the Bible deeper
- want to relate
Biblical teachings to your daily life, for guidance, comfort and
understanding
- want to discover
- and embrace - the gifts that God has given you, and the ministry
to which God has called you...
we invite you
to click below to find out more.

Christian
Spirituality Retreats
Our Christian
Spirituality Ministry offers programming to nurture and deepen our
faith as Christians. Currently, this programming consists of the
following retreats.
The Spiritual
Life Retreats, offered twice a year through BPC's School of
Christian Learning, are held at Saint Andrew's Abbey in Valyermo,
California in the spring and fall. In this beautiful setting, we
join together to explore and reflect on the life of Jesus - our
model of compassion and strength, our guide in times of sorrow and
pain, our example of dignity and grace. As Scripture reminds us,
it is in living God's Word in relationship to others, that we will
find a deeper meaning to our own lives and a deeper connection to,
and reverence for, God.

information on Christian Spirituality Ministry retreats, please

Spiritual
Gifts Discovery Classes
"Now
there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are
varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties
of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them
in everyone."
Corinthians
12:4-6
Few things
are more rewarding than recognizing the spiritual gifts given to
us by God. When we know our spiritual gifts, we have our "job description"
as a Christian. When we use these gifts, we are responding to God's
call in a way that brings joy to our lives.
The Spiritual
Gifts Discovery Class is designed to help you discover the spiritual
gifts given to you by God, and the ways you might use them to serve
God. In that service within and beyond the walls of BPC, we live
out the BPC belief that "we are all ministers." The class is offered
periodically through the School of Christian Learning.
For information
on the next Spiritual Gifts Discovery Class, please call the
Church Office at 310-826-5656.
"Like
good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another
with whatever gift each of you has received."
1 Peter 4:10
